Palestinians were forbidden from using their national flag in 1967. Since then the people have adopted the watermelon as a symbol to represent their national colours.
These symbolic watermelon coasters are crocheted by Irish crafter Sarah T. Each beautiful coaster is embroidered with black thread to represent the seeds and then backed with a circle of cork for durability and surface protection.
Each watermelon coaster measures approximately 7cm in diameter.
