Beautifully made bunch of grapes brooch with vines and leaves. This is a really delightful piece that harks back to antiquity, with echoes of Dionysus or Bacchus.
This is a truly antique brooch, most likely dating from the late 19th Century, c1890 - 1905. It's entirely possible that it is real gold or at least gold filled vermiel but it isn't marked or acid tested so it's hard to say. There are drilled holes in the backs of the little grapes and vines. There are also small drilled holes in the leaves. Great condition, pin and hook closure.
